It’s all about British
One of the things we’re very proud of at Texture is the predominance of British products we are able to sell. As an independent British business ourselves it is important that, wherever possible, we try to source from UK suppliers and support other independent British businesses. Many of our suppliers have been trading for years and have fascinating histories. And because they are UK-based it means we can visit their factories and experience our products being made first hand, so can be confident in the quality and craftsmanship we are bringing to our customers.
Our main sofa suppliers, Parker Knoll and Tetrad, are both based in the UK. Tetrad has been established for over 45 years and manufactures in a factory in Lancashire; Parker Knoll was established over 147 years ago, originally from a small workshop in London, and is now based in Derbyshire. Both create hand built furniture which is built to last and provide excellent comfort.
We stock cushions by Voyage which are all made in Glasgow using Scottish linen. Our blankets by Bronte are made in one of Britain’s last remaining vertical mills. What that means is that the entire manufacturing process of converting raw wool into beautiful products, (design, dyeing, blending, carding, spinning, weaving, finishing and despatching) all happens in one place; their historic mill in Guiseley, West Yorkshire.
We work with most of the major UK fabric houses, such as Colefax and Fowler, Zoffany, GP & J Baker, Mulberry, Harlequin, Sanderson and Designers Guild. All of these companies are proud of their reputation for UK-based innovative design and, where possible, will use British mills to produce the fabrics.
So Texture is definitely flying the flag for British design and manufacture and we continue to keep an eye out for new products that can help us maintain this tradition. We hope you will continue to enjoy shopping for products that haven’t had too far to travel.
